Spirituality and meditation can be practiced in a cave, isolated from the world. But those who have chosen to live in the world face the challenge of integrating spirituality into all aspects of mundane life - work, relationships, sexuality. Tantric practices, including Tantra yoga, work on the subtle energies within the body to enhance spiritual growth and physical wellbeing. Tantra recognizes Eros as a vital force. Tantric practitioners believe that ecstasy is most likely to occur when relaxation and high states of excitement are combined.
BDSM can be a most powerful tool with which to access altered states of consciousness, which is essentially why people enjoy it. But because of this, it also contains a lot of potential dangers. These might be physical, as when using tools in the wrong way. They might also be psychological, such as an inability to process past trauma and being 'stuck' in a 'dark' place or, conversely, discovering such an intense level of pleasure that one becomes addicted to it and constantly craving more while compromising work and family responsibilities. These are, of course, extremes, but they are good examples of a BDSM practice that lacks mindfulness. Spirituality and meditation are the practice of mindfulness. When one brings them into one's BDSM practice, one becomes fully equipped to avoid any pitfalls or harm. This is the kind of BDSM we teach.
It takes time, just like everything else. But while it may take years to bring it to perfection, one can enjoy certain benefits right away, and open up a path for one's life-long exploration.
Most people think of ropes or bondage as belonging to the realm of kink or punishment. This is because they are not informed about the powerful somatic journey inward that these practices take you on. Erotically healthy people not only enjoy their fantasies but also use them to acquire insights into their emotions and motivations. This is an essential aspect of this course.
Not at all, this course helps you to integrate your inner world, including your religious or spiritual practice, so that all of your actions become harmonious, holistic, and in line with who you are.
This is a very common concern and our course definitely addresses it. We have devoted a good portion of our material to the strategies of finding a like-minded partner and developing proper communication skills, building trust and creating a deep and meaningful experience together.
Several studies, including one published in the March 2019 issue of The Journal of Sexual Medicine that compared 266 consensual BDSM practitioners to 200 control subjects who described their sex lives as traditional found that the BDSM group tended to report fewer sexual problems than the general population. "People engaging in BDSM are usually people who have thought a lot about their sexuality," stated the study's coauthor, "they have explored and faced their sexual boundaries. Basically, they know what they like, and they do it. This has a positive outcome on their sexual experiences and on the overall quality of their lives."
Fantasy and power exchange explorations are all about getting out of one's thinking head and feeling things deeper. In order to access these altered states of consciousness, one must be willing to open up and become vulnerable. Only then does one tap into the real magic.
Getting out of one's comfort zone is part of any process of growth and transformation. Nevertheless, we don't want to push things into the opposite extreme and make you overwhelmed. There is a sweet spot and that's where we want to be.
A Chinese proverb says that the deeper you bow, the higher you grow. Carl Jung said that one does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. In other words, all wisdom, Easter and Western has concluded that through surrender one becomes empowered.
First of all, it's not all "dark"! BDSM play can be fun, exciting, playful, sensual, caring. Now, when it comes to visiting some dark places, Alan Watts said this: "we cannot be more sensitive to pleasure without being more sensitive to pain."
Sometimes one chooses to take a risk because one senses that the reward might be worth it, just like Alice jumping into the rabbit hole. Also, our course is created in such a way as to provide you with the 'alchemical' tools that will help you transform the parts of you that you don't like into virtues!
